Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) set out all the terms and conditions upon which we provide you, and members of your party (“you”, “your”, “Entrant”, “or “Entrants” as relevant) with access to the Westport House estate (henceforth referred to as Westport House).
General
- All Entrants entering Westport House (both paying and non-paying) do so subject to their adherence to these Terms and Conditions.
- These Terms and Conditions incorporate our Privacy Policy and the legal waiver referred to in sections 11 & 12 below.
- There are areas within Westport House where charges apply. Gracy’s Pizzeria & Bistro and the grounds of Westport House are open to the public. However, management reserves the right to refuse entry to any entrant to Westport House or Gracy’s Pizzeria & Bistro. For the avoidance of doubt, please note that Westport House is a privately owned estate with no right of access.
- These Terms and Conditions bind you; your guests and members of your party and you shall be responsible and liable for any failure on their part to comply.
- The estate is monitored at all times by CCTV. Images are recorded for crime prevention, detection, and personal safety.
- Advance permission granted at Westport House’s discretion is required to fly drone cameras. Please email us at info@westporthouse.ieto request permission.
- It is your responsibility to check the accuracy of the details in your cart or on your ticket or gift voucher before confirming your purchase. Westport House does not accept any responsibility for bookings that are incorrect due to an error on the part of the Entrant.
- Upon making a booking or purchase of a ticket or gift voucher from the Website you will receive an email, to the email address you have supplied, with details of your booking, your ticket or gift voucher.
- The email constitutes your receipt and proof of purchase. Please check that you have received this email following purchase. We take no responsibility if you do not receive this email due to reasons outside of our control. You must advise us as soon as possible of any mistake therein.
- Please note we do not provide storage lockers on site.
Supervision and Waivers
- To access the paid-for areas a ticket must be purchased. This can be purchased using www.westporthouse.ie(the Website), or by arriving at Westport House and purchasing a ticket at the reception desk. Each person purchasing a ticket for themselves or a group, and before entering a ticketed area of Westport House, is deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions as displayed on the Website and as available at our premises. For the avoidance of doubt, all visitors who enter Westport House and/or avail of its services, whether they have purchased a ticket or not, are deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions, and where applicable are deemed to have accepted the legal waiver incorporated therein.
- For all activity bookings each participating child must have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian/supervising adult. Each participating and each supervising adult must sign their own waiver. Waivers are valid for one year from signing date. Unless Westport House agrees otherwise, one adult can sign a waiver for up to 6 (under 18) children on the day.
- Where members of a group are children, the adults who accompany the children to Westport House are deemed to be their guardian for the duration of the visit, will supervise the children and are deemed to accept the responsibilities associated on their behalf.
- You confirm that there is the required number of Adults for your booking and that the required number of Adult(s) will supervise all Children in the group during their time in Westport House.
Activity Bookings: payment and cancellations
- For all activity bookings we will charge your credit or debit card through a secure payment system with a payment amounting to 100% of your total booking once availability has been confirmed. We do not accept liability if payment is refused or declined for any reason.
- To cancel you will need to email us at info@westporthouse.ie. You are responsible for ensuring that we receive the request. Except for our Winter Wonderland tickets (which are nonrefundable, nontransferable and cannot be exchanged or re-scheduled) and subject to section 4 (group activity bookings) our policy for cancellations of activities by you is as follows:
If you cancel within five (5) days of activity start time: no refund or reschedule.
If you cancel outside five (5) days of activity start time; you have the option of a full refund less an admin fee of €10 per booking or charges incurred by us), a reschedule or a gift voucher in the amount of the cancelled booking.
If you wish to re-schedule your activity booking (and you are outside the 5-day period set out above) we will endeavour to accommodate you, but we are under no obligation to do so. Any request will be subject to availability. No-shows or participants who are late and refused entry are not eligible for a refund, reschedule or credit in any form.
Subject to the above, tickets are otherwise non-changeable, non-transferable and non-refundable.
- As set out above, Winter Wonderland tickets are nonrefundable, non transferable and cannot be exchanged or re-scheduled.
- Where applicable, credit/debit card payments will be refunded via the same card number, less any non-refundable deposit and any other non-refundable amounts paid.
Adventure Pass and Individual Activity Ticket Terms & Conditions of Entry
19. All persons entering Westport House (both paying and non-paying) do so subject to their adherence to these Terms and Conditions. Entry to any activity areas without a ticket or when the park or areas are closed is strictly prohibited.
- We recommend that you pre-book any activities requiring payment. We operate on a “first come, first served” policy so we cannot guarantee that you will be able to book a particular activity for a specific time or at all.
- Save as otherwise permitted by Westport House, all Entrants must pay for admission to paid activities at Westport House. Any person attempting to gain admission to our paid activity areas without a valid ticket will be refused entry or removed.
- By purchasing tickets for Westport House, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and agree to the use of the information you provide us with.
- For any tickets purchased, you must choose your preferred date and time of visit at the point of booking. Before making a purchase, please carefully review your time, date and individual selections to ensure these are correct.
- All prices are quoted in Euro inclusive of VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated. Westport House reserves the right to increase or decrease ticket prices at any time. The prices of tickets purchased online are as stated in Entrant’s confirmation email. Refunds will not be given due to adverse weather conditions.
- You must present to the ticket office a printed or digital copy of your email confirmation or your booking reference number along with photo identification, your email confirmation will act as your ticket.
- Westport House reserves the right to examine ID to confirm the age of a customer.
- Save as otherwise permitted by Westport House, all Entrants must pay for admission. Tickets must be retained at all times and submitted for inspection if required by any employee or agent of Westport House. Failure to provide a valid ticket may result in removal from Westport House. Any person attempting to gain admission without a valid ticket will be refused entry and/or removed. If any person in breach of this clause is a member of a group, then such group of individuals may also, at Westport House’s discretion, be denied entry or escorted from Westport House without any right to a refund.
- Subject to the supervision requirements for each individual activity provided for under the activity description set out on the activity page of the Westport House website and/or on information signs on the premises, the default position is that there must be at least one Adult for every 8 Children in a group. For the avoidance of doubt, a group of 9 – 16 Children requires at least 2 Adults to accompany the group in order to enter the premises, and a group of 17 – 24 Children requires at least 3 Adults to accompany the group and so on.
- All guests booked on a single booking reference must be processed together. Westport House will not process booking references separately.
- You confirm that there is the required number of adults for your booking and that the required number of adult(s) will supervise all children in the group during their time at the premises.
- Individual areas of Westport House have differing rules of entry. Certain activities are sold for one hour or other time duration and must be used at the time booked. Entrants who arrive later than that may be refused entry depending on capacity constraints. If a safety briefing is missed in whole or in part a Entrant will not be permitted entry. No refunds will be provided if any Entrant does not get to partake in any specific activity as a result of late arrival. Entrants who arrive earlier than their allotted time may be required to wait until the booked time before they can enter. We recommend Entrants arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of any activity booked (including Winter Wonderland, if applicable).
- For health and safety reasons some of our activities have restricted availability based primarily on height, weight or age of Entrants. The nature of the restrictions vary from activity to activity. Details of these restrictions can be viewed on each activity page on www.westporthouse.ieand/or on information signs at Westport House. Any Entrant who does not meet the requirement will not be permitted to undertake the relevant activity. It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that all members of their booking or party meet the requirements. All guests may be weighed or measured before being allowed to ride. If you buy a ticket and are unable to ride, we will refund your fee.
- All activities are subject to minimum numbers. If minimum numbers are not met for individual activities, Westport House reserves the right to cancel said activities. If an activity is cancelled by Westport House for not meeting minimum numbers, in its discretion Westport House will offer an alternative activity. Where Westport House cannot provide a suitable alternative activity (in the Westport House’s reasonable opinion) Westport House will credit payment made for the activity with a voucher for use at Westport House or, in its discretion, offer a refund.
- Certain activities at Westport House require a staff member to interact with the Entrant.
- Certain activities at Westport House require a detailed briefing or induction before participation is allowed, and Entrants must undertake and participate in these sessions before they can undertake the activity.
- All activities have supervision requirements. The nature of the requirements vary from activity to activity. Details of these requirements can be viewed on each activity page and/or on information signs on the premises. Certain activities at Westport House require a person over 18 to accompany a child under 18 on the activity. In such case the accompanying person will be required to purchase a ticket for the activity.
Wristbands
37. Wristbands are an important part of the health and safety system in Westport House. They provide an indication as to where entrants can safely use activities or view an activity (as applicable). As such, wristbands are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Wristbands must be worn/retained at all times by Entrants during their visit to Westport House and submitted for inspection if required by any employee or agent of Westport House. Failure to provide a valid wristband may result in removal from Westport House. Wristbands for participation in activities are only valid subject to Entrants meeting the health and safety requirements of the rides and attractions. These include but are not limited to height, weight, age, suitable clothing and various medical restrictions.
Conduct of Visitors
39. It is the sole responsibility of the bearer of a ticket to check opening times of the estate and/or guided tour times of Westport House at www.WestportHouse.ie.
- Westport House reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse entry to, or remove from its premises or the vicinity, without refund, any person who:
- Has behaved in a manner which in the opinion of Westport House, its employees, contractors or agents, has affected or is likely to affect the safety or enjoyment of, or cause annoyance, danger or distress to, other Entrants or damage to property.
- Has used threatening, intimidating, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or in any way provokes or behaves in a manner which does or may provoke a breach of the peace.
- Appears, in the opinion of an employee, contractor or agent of Westport House to be under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
- Climbs, damages or stands upon fences, barriers, walls, safety fences, rock arrangements, attraction structures, exhibits or any other buildings at Westport House;
- Takes photos, videos, or otherwise records either guests and/or employees without their specific permission to do so; or
- For any other reason at the sole discretion of Westport House, its employees, contractors, or agents.
- A person to whom the above applies must meet any expenses incurred for any damage caused or expenses incurred as a result of such behaviour.
- In accordance with Irish Law, smoking is strictly prohibited within all Westport House in-door public spaces. Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas.
- Food and beverages purchased outside Westport House may be consumed only in designated picnic areas. For the avoidance of doubt, at the discretion of Westport House, only Food and Beverages purchased in Gracy’s Pizzeria & Bistro may be consumed therein.
- BBQs, ball-playing and Fires – open camp fires and ball playing are not permitted on the site. Free standing BBQs are permitted in the Caravan, Camping & Glamping Parks only.
- Cyclists and pedestrians must keep to the dedicated pathways, greenway or shared roads. Not all pathways are suitable for bikes, please observe the signage.
- Entrants must not enter the lake at any times, other than via organised activities. Fishing is not permitted.
- Please note and remember that our estate is in a forest setting that is the natural habitat of a variety of native creatures such as insects, spiders, rodents and ticks. You should note any information and guidance provided in any of our notices.
- Any behaviour likely to cause annoyance to other visitors is not permitted. Entrants are expected to respect and conform to local laws and customs. If, in Westport House’s opinion, an Entrant is behaving in such a way as to cause danger, distress or annoyance to others or damage to property, he/she may be removed from the site without refund. In addition, he/she must meet any expenses incurred as a result of such behaviour.
- Pets or animals of any nature (with the exception of guide dogs and Assistance Dogs) are expressly prohibited within any indoor attractions areas at Westport House. For specific information on what types of dogs qualify as Assistance Dogs in Westport House and are allowed entry, please contact Westport House prior to your arrival onsite.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and are permitted outdoors only at Westport House and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Dogs (with the exception of guide dogs and Assistance Dogs) are not allowed on the Caravan camping site between July and August. Dogs (with the exception of guide dogs and Assistance Dogs) are never permitted in the Glamping Village. - All persons acknowledge that they are under a duty of care to take reasonable steps to ensure their own safety and that of any person accompanying them, taking into account age, capacity and any medical conditions.
- All persons in and around Westport House must behave in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
Opening of Attractions
53. Westport House will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that all of its exhibits/ displays are open for use by Entrants during normal opening hours. However, Westport House reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, whether for safety reasons or otherwise, and with or without prior notice, to close an attraction or any part of it or to restrict the number of Entrants having access to an attraction.
- In the event of the closure of a paid attraction, Westport House may refund any Entrant the cost of their prepaid ticket purchased specifically for dates on which such an attraction is closed only (less any shipping or booking fees as these are non-refundable). Westport House reserve the right to offer substitute tickets for admission to the closed paid attraction on an alternative date in substitution for any other form of redress.
- Other than in accordance with clause 53 above, Westport House shall have no liability whatsoever, including no liability to any individual for travel expenses or any other out of pocket expenses, in respect of closure of part or all of Westport House.
Limitation of Liability
56. Other than liability for death or personal injury resulting from the negligence of Westport House, its employees or agents, Westport House, shall not be liable to entrants for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, howsoever arising. Westport House shall not be liable for any Entrant’s property lost, stolen or damaged at Westport House and such property is at the sole risk of the Entrant.
Special Offers
57. Online bookings cannot be used in conjunction with any other special offer.
- No two special offers can be used in conjunction with each other.
- Booking fees and postage fees are non-refundable.
Events Outside the Control of Westport House
60. Westport House is not liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of its obligations caused by events outside its reasonable control.
It must be understood that for operational, technical, weather related or other reasons beyond our control, any attraction may have to be closed, removed, altered in type or otherwise be unavailable at any time due to inclement weather, technical issues or otherwise without prior notice.
If for some reason you are unhappy with any aspect of your booking, we ask that you write to us, care of Westport House, Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland or by email at info@westporthouse.ie. Where possible, please quote the relevant Booking Reference Number and provide all other relevant information.
Governing Law
61. These Terms and Conditions and all disputes and issues between Westport House and an Entrant arising out of or in any way relating to these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Westport House and Entrants hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
Driving & Parking
62. Please use great care when driving and observe speed limits within the premises. Children are at play throughout the estate. Please ensure to follow all road safety signs and be aware of the estates one-way traffic system.
- Sleepers, boulders, logs and posts are placed to prevent damage to the roadsides and unauthorised parking. No liability is accepted for any damage caused by these markers unless due to our negligence.
- Vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk. We take no responsibility for damage caused to any vehicle using the car park and no guarantee is given as to the security of guests’ vehicles in the car park or any contents contained therein.
- Motor homes, camper vans, caravans etc. if parked in Westport House day car parks must vacate by 10am on the day of entry unless express permission for any extended stay has been obtained from Westport House.
Campsite & Glamping Village
- General Rules and Regulations
- Bookings for Caravan and Camping are made online – Hard Stands are allocated at the time of booking based on your booking needs and you’ll be given your pitch number upon check in. Tent Pitches are picked on a first come, first served basis as it is an open site.
- You must be over 18 years old to make a booking with us.
- Group bookings may be made through our booking engine. We cannot guarantee that groups holidaying together will be located beside one another in the park, however we will endeavour to facilitate requests.
- Customers are advised to have insurance cover in the event of cancellation.
- Awnings – Many of our pitches can accommodate awnings but this must be booked and paid for at the time of booking. An awning is attachd to caravan / campervan or motorhome. A tent set up beside your unit is a separate tent booking.
- Fire/BBQs – open camp fires are not permitted on the site. Free standing BBQs are permitted.
- Arrival / late arrival – Camping reception is open until 8pm daily. If you require a later arrival time or arrive after this time, please call 087 268 1229. On arrival, please check in at reception where you’ll be given your allocated pitch number and signage to display on your unit stating your booking details along with your PIN for the access barrier.
- Pitch allocation – Guests with motorhomes, campervans and caravans select a hard stand pitch with or without electricity and/or an awning. The system will allocate a pitch number based on your requirements and the pitch characteristics. We will give this to you on arrival. It is imperative that you pitch in the pitch allocated. If you wish to move pitch, please visit reception and we will endeavour to facilitate your request. Please note that at busy times, this may not be possible. Tents select a grass pitch with or without electricity. Our tent park is open and you can choose your own space on arrival.
- Advance booking is essential for weekends, high season and bank holidays.
- There is no minimum stay for touring/camping, except for Bank Holiday weekends (3-night minimum).
- Full contact details and full payment is required at time of booking.
- The booking is made for the named guests only and is not transferable under any circumstances. Photo identification WILL be required for each adult. ID is not required for children.
- For couples looking to book, please note the resort is very busy with families with young children particularly during school holidays.
- We are a family, friendly site and we do not tolerate late night disturbances. Quiet hours are from 11pm nightly. Don’t book our site if you think you’re going to stay up late.
- Vehicles are not permitted to drive around the Caravan and Camping sites after 10pm.
- A strict 10kph speed limit is in place on all areas of the site.
- Check in to Caravan Park & Tent Park is 2pm. Check in to the Glamping Village is 4pm (if your tent is ready earlier, we will facilitate an earlier check in but we cannot guarantee it).
- Checkout time on day of departure is strictly by 11am.
- Dogs are allowed touring & camping outside of July & August as long as they are kept on a short lead and supervised by an adult at all times. Dogs are NOT permitted on site during the months of July and August. Dogs are not allowed in the Glamping Village at any time.
- You must display your coloured token clearly on your vehicle windscreen or tent. In the Tent Park, please display your Pitch Number Paddle (supplied by us) by your tent.
- Children must be supervised by their parents/guardians at all times while on site.
- We are strictly a touring park for “holiday use” only. Working vans/commercial vans are not allowed on site. Persons found “working” from the site will be asked to leave immediately with No Refund.
- If you cancel within five (5) days of the first day of your stay start time: no refund or reschedule. If you cancel outside five (5) days of your stay start time; you have the option of a full refund less an admin fee of €10 per booking or charges incurred by us), a reschedule or a gift voucher in the amount of the cancelled booking. If you wish to re-schedule your activity booking (and you are outside the 5-day period set out above) we will endeavour to accommodate you, but we are under no obligation to do so. Any request will be subject to availability. No-shows or participants who are late and refused entry are not eligible for a refund, reschedule or credit in any form.
- If you book an electric pitch, then you need to supply your own camping lead. Your camping lead needs to have a round blue 3-pin plug on one end that connects into our electric bollard. This camping lead is standard throughout Europe. If you haven’t bought your camping lead yet, then we recommend buying a camping lead that is at least 20m long. We do not sell camping leads, so please see your nearest camping shop.
- If you are availing of Electric, please check that it is in working order before you settle in. If a camper requires us to call out an electrician and the fault is on the part of the camper, a €50 callout charge will be incurred.
- No unauthorized or improper use of the Wi-Fi (please see full usage agreement upon arrival)
- Westport House reserves the right, in its absolute discretion, to refuse entry on to or remove from its premises or the vicinity any person who:
– Has been convicted of a criminal offence, which, in its opinion, is likely to affect the safety or enjoyment of other visitors or team.
– Has behaved in a manner or is likely to affect the safety or enjoyment of other visitors or our team.
– Has used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or in any way provokes or behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace.
– Is thought to be under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
PLEASE NOTE: Westport House is a quiet, respectable, family-run Caravan & Camping park. We cater for couples and families with children. We DO NOT cater for adult/teen groups, hens/stags or those who are looking to stay up at night past our strict curfew. We have a strict noise curfew from 11 p.m. and we DO NOT tolerate any behaviour at any time that disturbs neighbouring families (including, but not limited to, foul language, rowdy behaviour etc.). If you book and you cannot follow the our rules, then you will be asked to leave with no refund. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Memberships
- Westport Adventure membership is valid from date of purchase to the 31st December 2024 during normal opening times as detailed on www.WestportAdventure.ie. Opening times are subject to change.
- An adult must be present on each membership and children under 16 must always be accompanied by an adult 18+ or they will be refused entry. For example, for a 3-person membership, up to 3 adults or a minimum of 1 adult and 2 children must be named to use the card.
- Membership is for use by named adult(s) and named children only and it is not transferable under any circumstances.
- Photo identification will be required for each adult’s entry and only adults named on the membership card may use the membership. Memberships found to be used by persons, other than those named, may be retained by Westport Adventure. Children do not require photo identification.
- Guests entitled to free entry e.g., carers, can be named on a membership free of charge. Appropriate proof of disability e.g. doctor’s letter or support group membership is required as without it, carer cannot be added to the membership free of charge.
- Subject to Westport House standard terms and conditions available at www.westporthouse.ie/terms-conditions Westport Adventure membership includes unlimited use of Adventure & Estate Pass activities i.e. use of net park, giant slides, climbing tower, disc & foot golf, toddler discovery play (opening July 2024), swans, rail train, road train.
- Members will not be refunded for any full priced tickets purchased whilst holding a valid membership.
- 10% discounts on Quarry’s Edge Activities (Climbing Wall, Aerial Trek, Twin Zipline, Quarry’s Edge Leap, Giant Swing) and Interactive Gaming Zone limited to 1 activity per person per day during July & August.
- Membership is subject to some restrictions in usage dates, where additional charges at a special rate may be made available. Restricted dates include but are not limited to any themed and/or special events organised by Westport Adventure, e.g., Halloween/Christmas/Outdoor Theatre or other 3rd party events held on the estate by external vendors/event organisers.
- Memberships cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers in Westport Adventure e.g., school tours, Christmas & Halloween events, corporate/hotel tickets, special offers etc.
- Any changes to a membership, separate to set up and renewal, must be made by the main contact on the membership pass. This contact must complete an amendment form and show valid ID to authorise the changes.
- Memberships cannot be sold to another party, resold/exchanged, or profited for, under any circumstance, this will result in cancellation without refund. Failure to comply with Westport Adventure T&C’s available at www.westporthouse.ie/terms-conditions/ will result in cancellation of the membership.
- Westport Adventure reserves the right to change the membership benefits, terms and conditions applicable, and prices at any time without prior notice.
- Westport Adventure reserves the right to cancel a membership without refund if it is deemed to be misused.
- Please keep your receipt of payment of membership for future reference.
- Should Westport Adventure be forced to close due to exceptional circumstances outside of our control, Westport Adventure will not be held responsible for any costs incurred, i.e., hotel, travel costs or otherwise. Further to this, Westport Adventure will not offer refunds for days closed.
- Westport Adventure’s activities are subject to availability and may close for operational or technical reasons, seasonality, inclement weather, special events, to ensure the safety and security of guests, or if Westport Adventure reasonably considers that circumstances require it. Further to this, Westport Adventure will not offer refunds for days closed.
- When you apply for membership (and possibly throughout the course of your membership subscription) it will be necessary for us to obtain certain information from you (such as your name, address, email address and mobile number ). Westport Adventure will treat this as personal data for the purposes of data protection law. Westport Adventure will collect, hold and process your personal data in accordance with the Westport Adventure Privacy Policy available at https://www.westporthouse.ie/privacy-policy.
- Personal information and data provided to Westport Adventure will be used for the purpose of processing your membership application.
- The latest terms and conditions, which are subject to change are available at www.westporthouse.ie/terms-conditions and apply in full to any visits by members to the Westport House estate.
- No refunds will be issued in respect of producing membership card at a later date.
- Membership card must be presented and in date at the time of purchasing a ticket or an item. Membership must be valid on date of visit. Photocopies or names on memberships will not be accepted.
- Gift Membership – Gift membership can only be used by the named card holder or card holders (subject always to the terms of the specific category of membership purchased). The purchaser of any gift membership warrants that he/she has the consent of the member to provide the member’s personal data to AWS for the purposes of administering the membership and membership benefits. The purchaser of any gift membership warrants that he/she will make the receiver of the membership aware of these terms and conditions.
