Cathal Gavin
Hailing from Swinford, Co. Mayo, Cathal Gavin has swiftly become one of Ireland’s most captivating young talents. Bursting onto the scene at just 13 years old with the release of his debut album, Voice of an Angel, Cathal’s extraordinary voice and heartfelt performances quickly captured the hearts of audiences in Ireland and beyond.
Over the past nine years, Cathal has honed his craft, performing on some of the most prestigious stages and sharing the spotlight with the country’s top recording artists. Alongside this, he has remained dedicated to philanthropic endeavours, using proceeds from his album sales and charitable appearances to support various causes and give back to the community.
One of Cathal’s most memorable performances came at the 2019 World Youth Day in Panama City, Central America where he sang for Pope Francis before a staggering 250,000 people, making him the youngest Irish artist ever to perform at the event. Broadcasted to over 37 million viewers worldwide, this performance was a defining moment in his career.
In addition to his live performances, Cathal has made his mark with powerful recordings. His debut single, Forever Young, released in July 2021, soared into the iTunes Top 100 Charts, with its Irish-pop sound and Celtic twist resonating with fans globally. Following this success, Cathal’s reimagined version of the iconic hit ‘I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing’—released as Christmas Wish—captured the spirit of the holiday season and gained international airplay in over 60 countries.
Cathal has also made a significant impact online, garnering hundreds of thousands of views across social media platforms. Amidst all of this, he has remained dedicated to his education, currently studying BSc Aviation Management with Pilot Studies at Dublin City University.
Now, at 22, Cathal is set to unveil an exciting new chapter in his musical journey—one that marks his evolution from a young prodigy into a fully-fledged artist with a unique voice and vision. With this newfound direction, he is ready to step into the spotlight with a bold new sound and fresh perspective.
